The Chilean Metal scene is excellent, but there was a strange feature on Chilean bands' releases: the need to belong to a time that doesn't exist anymore, the 80's. But last week, a Chilean act, METALRIFF, showed that things are changing there. And NUCLEAR seems to take seriously such ideal, because "Murder of Crows" is a fine piece of Metal worked in a great way. They're a violent form of Thrash Metal in the vein of EXODUS, VIO-LENCE, OVERKILL and those names whose music can make walls tremble and heads bang as Hell. It's violent, with a good technical approach, a melodic sense to guide their music. They play pretty fast (but some slow parts can be heard, as on "When Water Thickens Blood"), and unleash megatons of pure energy with their music. Yes, it's very good release, indeed.

Unfortunately, the names of those who worked on the production, mixing and mastering are not available. But they deserve praises, because the sound quality of "Murder of Crows" is really great, with defined instrumental tunes, all violent and aggressive, but in a clean way that everything can be understood and absorbed easily by the listeners.

This album must be heard with care for the ears, because the level of musical Thrash Metal violence of "Murder of Crows" is extreme. And to be hooked by their music, the massive energy of "Murder of Crows" (amazing guitars riffs, and with a fine and a technical work on bass guitar and drums), the mosh inciting song called "No Light After All" (a Hardcore/Crossover influence is clear in many parts), "When Water Thickens Blood" (this one has a slow insight, but the musical violence improves, and what a great singing from the vocals), the mid tempos used to make the walls tremble on "Abusados", and the abusive musical violence exposed on "Facing Towards You" and "Hatetrend" are the finest ones, besides the entire album is very good.

Maybe it's a new tendency in Chile to use a modern and defined production to improve things, but NUCLEAR shows on "Murder of Crows" that they are a true leading force on the country.
