All Life Must End
No Coffin
From the city of Miami, Florida (USA) introducing a thrash/death/hardcore band NO COFFIN. They have been in the metal scene for the last two years at least since their first EP titled UGLY, BROKE, DECAYED.... came in 2019. They formed in late 2019 and they would see themselves as "a hybrid of thrash, doom, hardcore and metal which they slam, cut and force together". The first EP UGLY, BROKE, DECAYED.... was also containing four tracks and well it certainly brings out the death metal or hardcore elements of the bands music. This EP was independently released whereas now they have unleashed a new EP titled ALL LIFE MUST END. This new EP also contains four tracks showing more of what the band can offer us.
The first track launches us into the sheer, groundbreaking ".45" and devastating wall of sound. Starting with that fast evolving thrash and deathcore combination, crashing like the waves of multiple layers of sounds. Vocals full of devil may care attitude and full of energy ambitious but very effective. Guitar embellishes at times and drums are clinical. "Fire Is The Cleanser" very much sounds like a living hell rising from the underbelly of what came before. Perhaps a living organism or deity like a beast firing projectiles of deathly themed guitar and drums that are bone-crunching. This is short and sweet as its predecessor, around 2 minutes, but a worthy contribution.
"All Life Must End" as the EP title as well also short enough just gives that pulsating guitar in hardcore fashion injected with the death/thrash elements. But all is quiet going into the final track "Over(Portishead Cover)" at first. Then the experimental side or thrash influence comes through in style, with lo-fi soundscape accompanied by mellow guitar. A good cover of a classic track originally by PORTISHEAD. The EP is a great follow up to their debut EP however I do wonder if a full length album could come sooner rather than later. The band are certainly a worthy contender in the deathcore or thrash metal scene, sensational EP!
