Valley Of The Gods
Nitro Gods
Nitro Gods are a power trio from Hanover Germany formed in 2010 by Henny Wolter after leaving Primal Fear for the second time. Henny Wolter and Klaus Sperlings have shared stages with the likes of Motorhead, Kiss and Status Quo whilst been in their former bands Thunderhead Sinner and Primal Fear. They all share the same influences and tastes in ZZ Top ,Motorhead and 70's Status Quo ,with all three agreeing that they wanted to stay clear of the modern rock production sound believing that using the modern technology ,correcting every little mistake takes away the edge and roughness of the way rock n' roll should sound. Nitro Gods have toured all over Europe and opened for bands like W.A.S.P. and appeared at countless festivals too.
“Leftlane To Memphis” is a good start to the album galloping at pace with some catchy heavy riffs with Claus "Oimel" Larcher doing his best Lemmy interpretation. ”Shinbone Kicker” is more guitar focused some meaty Heavy Metal riffs, rhythm and melodies throughout, while “Valley Of The Gods” has that Status Quo style melody & riffs ,but heavier in parts .”Last Beer Blues” has deep bass groove to the track ,a more bluesy southern rock feel. Then for the rest of the record its just straight forward heavy metal rock n' roll. ”Rotten Sucker” a song about not realizing you're getting older, ”Broke & Ugly” is about a musician not blessed with good looks, ”Breaking Balls” which is about touring life. All the tracks are full of great heavy guitar riffs, pounding drums, those distinctive growling ,husky, razor like Lemmy style vocals. “Prime Time Error” is one of the best tracks for me it calls to be played loud, to bang your head a very catchy old school heavy metal track so is the fantastic “Gimme Beer” which hits you right between the eyes, ”Like A Worm” is laden with great heavy riffs, infectious melody and vocal,”Ridin Out” as former tracks guitar riffs galore, hooks galore and heavy rhythm, energy & intensity.
Nitrogods “Valley Of The Gods” is a good old fashioned heavy metal/hard rock album which is nothing ground breaking or innovative musically and the songs are very cliché but will not disappoint fans of this genre. Yes its very similar vocally & sounds like Motorhead , but if like me you like your old school heavy metal ,fast ,crunchy guitars riffs, pounding drums and growling vocals then this album is for you to bang your head to ,turn up loud and enjoy!
