Ninth Realm - A Fate Unbroken album cover

East Coast/Maryland Crossover/Thrashers, NINTH REALM, are here to throw down with their latest gift to the scene, "A Fate Unbroken". It is their debut full-length album. With the help of Mercenary Press, these five sword welding fellows are off on a grand adventure in 2023. I'm sure that they are excited, as am I. I have a good gut feeling on this one. They look young and fresh, hopefully with a new spin on an old style. The cover art is on point, that is always good. Hopefully, it is the complete package.

They start us out with a  slow, melodic intro to set the the scene by opening with the "Gate Of Tythorin", while leading in to "Plea To The Heavens", a sacrificial screamer. It carry's right along, staying in a nice pocket with some old school guitar flair to give it some heavy riffage. A solid start. The terrible tale of the "Witches Choir", has more of a deep bass with a heavy grind to it with him sounding more like a storyteller. 3 out of 3 Ain't bad, so far, so good. Everything is nice and heavy. The studio work sounds on point, everyone is coming through clear in the mix. Props to everyone involved in that process. I know something great takes a team effort outside of just the band. It sounds like they were in good hands all of the way through on this one. Hopefully everyone's hard work pays off.

"Armageddon's Howl", comes along as another head banger. You just can't help not to keep your head bobbing in unison with your foot when you get to this one, number six. I had high hopes for something special here. We are about half way through and I already know that a ticket purchased would be money well spent if I was given the opportunity to see these guys play live. The whole album has a great crossover of styles and has just the right touch of new/old school in all of the right places. The title track and last song, has the most classic vibe to it of them all, more so than everything previous to this point. It even has a guest appearance of a female vocalist for the first time. So that is good, everything before this sounds fresh and unique, not just the same thing everyone else does. I am not going to give it a 10 but I can't find much to "complain", about here. Everyone involved did a great job, this one is worth checking out. I am giving it an eight, close to a nine, out of ten.
