Nikolo Kotzev (Brazen Abbot / Baltimoore) gave birth to this concept album, that talks about the 16th century visionary, Nostradamus.
Mr. Kotzev is in music business for years and he knows very well the recipe for a good project album: Compose incredible melodies, add some exceptional guests, put an orchestra (conducted by Nelko Kolarov) for garnish, stir well err... I mean.... have a good-clear production on it (that, in this case, was made by Kotzev himself) and here it is.
The musicians: Apart from Nikolo Kotzev playing guitar, violin, keyboards and percussion the album features Mic Michaeli on organ, John Leven on bass, Ian Haughland on drums (all three were in the band Europe) and a collection from the finest vocalists Hard Rock scene ever had. Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow / Deep Purple and every other band) plays Nostradamus, Glenn The Voice Of Rock Hughes is King Henri II of France,  Goran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen / Kharma) is the Soldier/Ghost, Jorn Lande (Millennium / Ark / Jorn) is the Inquisitor, Doogie White (Rainbow / Malmsteen / Cornerstone) is the Storyteller, Alannah Myles is Anne Gemelle and Sass Jordan is Queen  Catherine of France.
The songs that stand out are: Pieces Of A Dream, that is sung by Glenn Hughes who has one of the most emotional voices; Desecration, in which Goran Edman tells us of how the soldier becomes the ghost; Henriette, the ballad that features Joe Lynn Turner voice combined with Kotzev's violin; Caught Up In A Rush, a funky-like/Purple-like song performed by Hughes; Inquisition, that features  a duet of Turner and Jorn Lande; Chosen Man, Hughes and Turner together, what else could someone ask; and last but not least I'll remember you, where Alannah Myles sings with Turner.
The only drawback is the huge orchestral parts and the choir vocals that sometimes sound kind of pompous. This combined with the length (100 minutes) of this album (that since it's concept should be listened as a whole) makes the hearing pretty tiring. Of course, this is my opinion and only and since I'm fed up with the current trend of adding orchestras in albums, it's kind of hard for me to say something nice about it.
In conclusion, don't listen to my whining about the orchestral parts (I know most of you love them anyway)... buy the album!
