Formed in 1995, the German metal band Night In Gales has steadily grown up to be a force to be reckoned with. 'Necrodynamic' is their latest album release and it definitely shows that death metal has no limit. Although I am not in death kind of metal 'Necrodynamic' made my head bang for several days.

Night In Gales with 'Necrodynamic' gives extreme metal the long overdue update and guarantees multiple orgasms with up style down mixture of death metal madness. Thrash riffs and a whole rocking easiness, wrapped in independent, catchy and heavier than before.

The last album (Nailworks) showed a musical way that was more influenced by the heavy-metal scene, less typically Swedish death-metal. The new materials continue in this way, the new compositions are more influenced by the heavy-metal scene even if the guitars riffs and the music is always based on Sweden's death-metal (In Flames), but the new songs are more varied, due to the use of clear and death-metal vocals. A full CD as Night In Gales did in the past, yes but with some new things and more heavy-metal influences.

I think Night In Gales is definitely building a kind of interface between melodic death and thrash metal. 'Necrodynamic' became even more melodic than its predecessor 'Nailworks' out of 2000. Maybe that's one of the points why the band left Nuclear Blast and changed to Massacre Records, which is a label that exactly checks a band upon its possibilities before signing and promoting them. I really like that record. Songs like the opener 'The Last Livin' Song' or the playful last song on the album 'Counting Flies' clearly show the skills of the band: to write very catchy songs that are both hard and melodic

'Necrodynamic' is a very surprising album, especially because the German thrash back movement at the moment is more pronouncing the harder sides of thrash metal itself. So I think that the bands technical orientation through out all the years is finally about to pay off.
If 'Necrodynamic' doesn't make you swing, you are probably either deaf or dead...or both..?!
