Neuronia - Insanity Relapse album cover

And it only keeps better and better. Boy, I started my review from the middle or even from the end, crazy me. Well I did it just to open this one because I wanted to be as fresh as I can or maybe to lift your spirits of what you are about to read next. Actually, my first sentence described my state of mind after listening to this short EP by the Polish band NEURONIA. Though this band has been out shooting for nearly a decade, while on the way releasing an EP plus two studio albums between the period of 2007 & 2010, it is always great to get to know new bands for the personal lexicon. "Insanity Relapse" opened me to a different world in Thrash, Heavy and in a way, Death Metal as well. I think that with this presentation of creativity, this crew showcased how you can mix things up at the same time of indulging on the prospective of your material. Furthermore, beyond the musical artistic quality, NEURONIA also made an impact with enticing and interesting lyrics about everything that is political, social and even the darkest combinations of phantasmagoria in the spirit of our well known author, Mr. H.P. Lovecraft. However, I think that NEURONIA on this EP took tad into the bloody pool of present issues.

All through some of the intense formations of this release, NEURONIA has been taking from here, taking from there in order to formulate a more or less style of their own. Though there are a little bit Thrashier elements within the pieces of music, to be accurate similar to early 90s METALLICA, it is hard to ignore the swell groove, destructive speedy blast bits of extreme manner and the Heavy Metal natured lead guitar solos that bombed with fury. "Moon Over Providence" might be the last link in the shackle but this track truly emphasizes of what the decree I started this review with - "...It Only Keeps Better And Better...". Believe me I meant every word of it. I think that this one shows true diversity plus marvellous rhythmic intensity to the side of great soloing and perforating drum onslaught of the highest order. Moreover, the production on this EP is plain amazing as it really reflects the power that this band wanted to have in their grasp. Salute them on that.

Of course that I will indulge you to listen to the entire EP because the build up process to the last track is also interesting and it shows NEURONIA as a mature and inventive band. I trust that they will find a good label to support their next full length as I do believe that they are worth it.
