Flames Of Black Fire

When you talk about the Italian Power Metal, the first name is in your mind is RHAPSODY OF FIRE, with your epic songs and dragons and Fabio Lione's lyrical style or their second band - VISION DIVINE with their influences in Progressive Metal. NEGACY had strong influences in Prog Metal as VISION DIVINE, but their song in this debut "Flames Of Black Fire" is more darkest than Lione's band.
Remember NEVERMORE and Marco Piu remember Warrell Dane singing sometimes. The production is simple one of the best from a beginner band. But the band simply changed the name and changed the name - they're called RED WARLOCK - and their style is a bit different from the previous band. The tracks are the cliché you expect to listen in a Power Metal band: virtuous guitars solos when you listen it you would like to die, because you will need many years studying to play like the Andrea Garibaldi and Gianni Corazza. Bass and drums outweigh to the sound and the vocal. Well, for me, I've great problems with Piu's voice. The band is excellent, the instruments are right measure, but when you listen Piu's drives during, one, two, OK, you could get using with it, but after the fourth song... I almost cried, because it's only drives, drives and... more drives! Few cases he sings with clean voices and you thank all the Gods you believe for it. When Marco Piu sings using drives, remembers me the Brazillian band ALMAH in their "Unfold" album, which I thought is the most boring album Edu Falaschi's made.
NEGACY had everything to explode in Prog/Power Metal scene, if Marco Piu change his voice style. I can highlight all the songs most like "The Great Plague", "Parasite" and "Epitaph". Structurally, it's technical, virtuous, angry and dark and modern 10 tracks. That all what they wants to make it plus talented musicians. It's hard for me to talk it about Italian singers - Michele Luppi is one of my favorite singers - and the ONLY thing that prevents me for not making a 10 is Marco Piu.
