Back in the 90's and far from the polemics in Norwegian scene, the Swedish Black Metal scene bloomed as well, and many great names arose. Names that created a 'trademark' sound, that kind of model that any fan can have the clear idea of what is the country from where the band came from. And from the city of Stockholm comes an ancient, NECROPHOBIC, with their latest release, the amazing "Dawn of the Damned".

On their music pulses the same darkened feeling from Swedish Black Metal, besides their musical work is a fusion of aspects of such genre with Old School Black/Thrash Metal (especially from German School) and some Speed Metal touches, along witch charming darkened melodies and intelligent instrumental arrangements. It's not a sin to see the band as a Black Metal JUDAS PRIEST. Massive, lovely darkened, aggressive to the very core and seductive, the music of the quintet is really personal and filled with energy.

As happens with the band since 2006's "Hrimthursum", they brought Fredrik Folkare (the guitarist from Swedish Death Metal legend UNLEASHED) to take care of the recordings and mixing of "Dawn of the Damned". And the final result is something defined and aggressive, but that allows their musical work to be expressed in a way that anyone can understand. And the choice for instrumental tunes is amazing, especially from the guitars. And by the way, they brought Schmier (from DESTRUCTION) to make some vocals on "Devil's Spawn Attack".

"Dawn of the Damned" is really an amazing album, and it's the first album with Allan Lundholm playing with the band. And in the middle of such lovely set of songs, "Darkness Be My Guide" (a fast and brutal song with excellent rhythmic arrangements, showing a great work on bass guitar ad drums), "Mirror Black" (one of the songs used as videos, it shows how the band can used an aggressive expression with catchy melodies, and great guitar riffs and solos, along with expressive shrieks and snarls from the vocals), the morbid approach of "Tartarian Winds", "The Infernal Depths of Eternity" (the excellent rhythmic work can be fully understood, and its seven minutes seems to pass faster that it really pass), "Dawn of the Damned" (the simple technical approach was a good choice, in a more traditional way into Black/Death Metal),  the Old School Black/Thrash Metal essence of "The Shadows" (the scent of influences from titans as BATHORY e CELTIC FROST is clear, but in a personal way), and "Devil's Spawn Attack" (their 80's extreme influences are clear on this one, with the same feeling from releases as "Infernal Overkill", "Pleasure to Kill" and "Persecution Mania", in a massive attack from guitar riffs and expressive vocals, with Schmier's and Ander's tunes contrasting in a great way). But the entire album shines as a precious gem, so hear them all and become hooked. And for those who buy the deluxe physical version, there are live shots for "Awakening...", "Darkside", "Tsar Bomb" and "Revelation 666", all of them recorded on Stockholm this year.
