The only Thing I knew about Tunisia is that my country (Colombia) beat the hell out of them in the France '98 Football World Cup (It's just an expression, we barely made it), but after listening to the first song of this album, I knew I had to know more of them.

After some research I found out that MYRATH is very well known by the international Progressive Power Metal community, because they are a very talented band with a highly oriental influenced style, something that is known for the Metal fans in bands like ORPHANED LAND. This new release, "Tales of the Sands" is not so much a step forward from last year's "Desert Call", but it's an ample successor with a practiced variation, big composition work and not mixed vocal range.

MYRATHsound incredibly good, with a luxury production and compositions that go beyond the achievements of any other modern Progressive Power band. They reminded me bands like SYMPHONYXand EVERGREY on the progressive dyes, but thanks to this mix of Arabic melodies and instruments they got a completely new and fresh sound, unique and extremely good, probably one of the best with Arabic sounds into their songs

This album is a clear balance between the fundamental Progressive Power Metal and the mix of rooted oriental rhythms, making a very good effort in the virtuosity of the components of the group, showing the talent that is in every instrumentalist of the album. The vocalist reminds me a little of Russell Allen, but still didn't impress me; I'll only say it fits perfect in the melodies managed in this album.

The fact that really amazes me is only with three albums in the race, MYRATH are known by many fans of the Progressive Power, only making it clear of what I thought the first time I heard them: "They will be the next thing"; and of course, they have still a lot to make for it, a lot to learn in the path, but definitely they are going in the right way and they will be known well around the world, giving a little breath from SYMPHONYX's constant style and DREAM THEATER's soup opera shit.
