MYGRAIN is a Melodic Death Metal band from Helsinki, Finland formed in 2004. Throughout their career they released the debut "Orbit Dance" in 2006, 2nd album "Signs of Existence" in 2008, 3^rd album "Mygrain" in 2011 and here comes their fourth effort, "Planetary Breathing" just recently released to the Metal world.

The intro "Incantation" showed the first signs of an upcoming release that will share no compromises. "Dreamscape" turned out to be my favorite where pulsating electronic keyboards enmesh with heavy riffery and commercialized echoes. The song's chorus is both tough and aggressive as suspected, fantastic vocal efforts, both clean and growls. "Ambivalentine" punishing in fast tempo, delivers a melodic crunch along with the halo of keyboards that added interest to the song. "Mercurian Summer" is repossession of ANGEL VIVALDI. Catchy chorus encrusted by melodic singing and impressive guitars, excellent guitar solo, and in general a fist of Metal in the morning. "Planetary Breathing" is yet another reason to admire Melodic Death Metal, even if not in its early 90's form, furthermore it also portrays progression. "Waking Up The Damned" is your sort of Symphonic kicker, ignited by great riffs and keyboards' performance in the style of CHILDREN OF BODOM. Others worth your time are: "The Final Skyline" following AERYON's keyboards signature, great rhythm section and progressive ventures rate along with "Ghost In Me" that pounds with an amazing chorus.

MYGRAIN is highly recommended for every Metalhead who wants to a true version of Melodic Death Metal with dozen harmonics and power in conjunction with Symphonic & Progressive resonances. I promise it won't be the last album of these guys that I will be listening to.
