MUSCIPULA is a Death Doom Metal Band out of Nashville, Tennessee. This is a 3 song demo that went sent and was done in very limited quantities to say the least. Not much is known about this band, I pretty much scratched and clawed to get some information from this rather unknown band. Hell I don't even know what instruments the two guys play, so that's a first for a review..

I couldn't find any video clip from the songs of this demo, the only thing I could find is a video introducing the band and another that was the cover to the song ''Reverend's Daughter'' by TYPECAST. The information is sparse at best and sometimes it may or may not be a good thing. For people who don't know, MUSCIPULA means a type of Venus Fly Trap and the songs are all based in this carnivorous plant that is one of a kind.

According to an interview I read from Zack Ledbetter, he was high on percocets and weed when he thought out of the songs from this demo. He has a vivid imagination and this demo does not disappoint in imagination that's for damn sure. The lyrics are really out there and he has this story in his head about the plants invading to take over all humanity. It's a trip safe to say and the thought process and lyrical content was pretty one of a kind.

The sound is quite unique, it's like really old CARCASS mixed with SLEEP. The vocals are distinct and something I never quite hear before, he has his own thing going on and the experimentation on this album is dense. It's a weird mix of old school Death Metal and Stoner Metal but it doesn't sound like anything I ever heard before. An acquired taste to say the least!
