Motorhead - Stage Fright album cover

Just in time for their 30th Anniversary Lemmy & Co. release the Stage Fright DVD as a birthday gift to their loyal fans. The main bulk of this two disc package consists of a live show filmed at the Philipshalle in Dusseldorf on the 7th of December 2004, while the second disc (which seems to be a standard these days) mainly covers the behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.
The show itself is great. Good sound, excellent lighting and tightly edited with a band that performs in absolute top shape. The setlist mainly consists of pre-90's material (save for a handfull of songs) and even manages to incorporate such rare tracks as I Got Mine (from the heavily underrated Another Perfect Day album - 1983) or Just 'cos You Got The Power. The only real complaint anyone can have is that the band only performs for about 90 minutes, which is far too short of course considering the amount of classics gathered over the years, and the fact that the setlist pretty much ignores most of the more recent material. As an added bonus there also is a dvd-check which is basically nothing more than a band commentary during the show (the screen switches when one of the members has something to say) - fun to watch once but nothing really spectacular, overal speaking.
The second disc has a number of entertaining documentaries, including a making of the live show and We are the Road Crew, which specifically has the roadcrew (of course) talking about their experiences on the road and dealing with the band members. Testimonials consists of various (and often funny) anekdotes that happened during the history of the band (and even has a portion dedicated to the desastrous Athens Open Air Festival in 2004) , while Fans lets various fans, including some famous musicians, have their say about 30 years of Motorhead. All in all this second disc is about 120 minutes in length .
To summarise things up - Stage Fright is an excellent value-for-money DVD and a fitting companion for 2002's Boneshaker DVD.
