They are the masterminds behind "Ace Of Spades"; one of Rock's loudest, most masculine, angry anthems known to man and they state that they are not just a band, it's a sort of lifestyle. The band I am speaking of are legendary trio MOTÖRHEAD and it seems they are not done showing us what Rock is all about. They bring fourth their twentieth studio album "Bad Magic" that actually is the first full length album I have listened to by this British trio and I have got to say it's a great display of their latest work, very MOTÖRHEAD sounding and what they are about.

I suppose that is one of the key things MOTÖRHEAD has is a unique sound and voice that the moment you listen to any of their songs you can guess from the word go that it is a MOTÖRHEAD song. This also means you don't have to try any different or experiment in any way as they have built up such a huge fan base over the past few decades based on their sound alone. I also believe those who have listened to them from the beginning have admired their lifestyle too.

It was great to hear on the album itself that they still keep to their sound that they are most renowned for. This album proudly showcases a bout of hard-hitting, deafening, heavy tunes that still keep to their classic sound; their song "Thunder & Lightening" is very similar sounding to classic "Ace Of Spades". Other highlights of this thunderous record that will do more than wake the neighbours are "Teach Them How To Bleed", "The Devil" and "Choking On Your Screams"; these particular tunes contain blistering guitar solos and riffs that are sure to make the fingers bleed by just practicing air guitar.

This album also shows me that ballad and MOTÖRHEAD can appear in the same sentence in a very positive light; the song I touch upon "Till The End" which actually was a brilliant track.

Ending with their piercingly loud yet excellent rendition of THE ROLLING STONES classic "Sympathy For The Devil" concluded that MOTÖRHEAD still have Rock and Roll in their blood, they aren't to let it go.

So overall; an uneasy initial listening first thing Monday morning after an exhausting weekend eventually turned into a pleasurable one as I perked up during the day and woke up a little bit. For those who have been fans since the beginning I'll leave you to make up your own mind about the record but for me, a brilliant new specimen.
