Grindcore is one of the most hated forms of music that exist. And for those who are into it, the Japanese trio MORTIFY will awake deep passion, because the EP "Grotesque Buzzsaw Defilement" keeps the traditions of Grindcore clearly.

It's something raw and aggressive, with short lengths of time, and a brutal and harsh aggressiveness that mixes the traditional format laid by names as NAPALM DEATH, BRUTAL TRUTH, AGATHOCLES and other masters of the noise, but with a clean influence from Old School Swedish Death Metal. Guttural growls and snarls, distorted guitars and pile-driving rhythms are their offerings for the fans, with massive and nasty energy. For the fans, it'll be impossible to resist. Although the trio works in a raw and extreme way, the sonority was conceived to be defined in a way that everyone can understand what they are playing clearly. But the instrumental tunes chosen are in a way that is near from classic crude way of Grindcore.

As mentioned above, it's an EP, and 13 songs for the genre is really what an EP can bring (well, imagine that there were a Grindcore band that released an album with 101 songs in the 90's, if my memory is still working). So be prepared by the assault imposed by songs as "Flesh Creep", "Musty Trudge", "Obelisk of Suffering" (more than one minute of shrapnel guitars), "No Survivors", "Grabby Hands" (this one has excellent Death Metal touches), "Mangy Mutts", and "Deviant". But if you're an addicted on Grindcore, their version for "NO!", from AGATHOCLES, will blow your ears!

Yes, for those who are into the most extreme forms of Grindcore and neighbors genres, "Grotesque Buzzsaw Defilement" is a release that can be missed. And MORTIFY shows the tradition of Japan for breeding destroying eras music!
