Today we have MOLDER with their first official demo "An Act of Revenge". Formed in 2017, MOLDER is a Thrash / Death Metal band coming out of Shorewood, Illinois. I am typically not a fan of Thrash but they have at least changed my mind with this demo. So let's continue and give this five song demo a go!

The opening is the self-titled song "An Act of Revenge" which instantly throws Thrashy riffs at you. All Guitar work is played by Ramon Garcia and he does a fantastic job. Honestly with Aaren Pantke's vocals I would say this is more along the lines of a Black/Thrash band with Death metal influences. Aaren also provides the drums on this demo in which he does so amazingly.

The second song up is "Molder" and I can definitely hear the Death Metal side of them. I will have to say that Dom Vaia on bass stands out on this one. All in all, this song is great but really short. Next song on the list is "Gods Critters". These songs clip from the movie Motel Hell had me on the floor crying and laughing. With that clip alone I knew this was going to be an old school sounding song, and I was right. Musically it slightly reminded me of MORTICIAN.

"Sweet Taste Of Death" is the fourth and second to last song. Everything about this song was awesome from beginning to end. I only wish the guitar solo had been extended a bit though, as well as the song. Now we come to the fifth and final track "Malpractice". This one had a great mixture of old school and new school. If you took SLAYER, DEATH and MORTICIAN and put them in a blender this would be the result. Definitely the best song on the demo. All in all, I think the band did a great job, there is room for improvement in certain areas but it's still really good. I look forward to a full length album whenever it comes out.
