Midnight Force - Dunsinane album cover

This Heavy Metal band from Great Britain (Glasgow, Scotland) with a style  between CIRITH UNGOL or  VIRGIN STEELE and a large chunk of the NWOBHM and early German Metal like ACCEPT or the SCORPIONS. They introduce themselves as "a hard working band, not afraid to put a lot of blood, sweat and effort into getting our music out there and getting recognized". They have released an EP called "Restless Blade" in 2016, a single in 2017 and have already gathered a lot of live experience in multiple countries.  The band plays regularly in Germany, over the UK and Ireland and have plans to reach some new shores this year. They appeared at Brofest, No Sleep Til Dublin, as well as having supported bands like ANGEL WITCH (in Germany), ROSS THE BOSS, HIGH SPIRITS, DEAD LORD (in Dublin), BLAZE BAYLEY or NIGHT DEMON and many more.

The title of the album refers to Macbeth, one of Scotland's most notorious kings.  The historical king, in the title track, was actually a more successful ruler than Shakespeare made him out to be.  The rest of the songs are inspired by Fantasy or history, from Robert E. Howard to accounts of historical battles and war. "Killer" offers a great opening, in a 70's like style, with a powerful and clear voice, a catchy song that warns us about this album's tone. The tone we find in "The Scarlet Citadel", which is more peaceful, but with a more powerful chorus. Really epic. Sing it loud!! ("Scream for me" as BRUCE DICKINSON would say).  This is the hymn of the album, and beautiful ending with acoustic guitar and spoken lyrics. The next three songs, "Down with the King", "Witchfinder", and "Alesia Falls" offer a common mood but with some notable differences.  An intro with Acoustic guitar – voice, a theme which sounds like an ode, and a Chorus that is clear and bright like a sunbeam through the clouds ; a song with a powerful first part and a more epic following ; and an epic and powerful song where loud drums beat like a heart, and the voice is powerful and clear.  No one knows where Alesia is, but here, we found a treasure.

"Crystal Talon" opens with an epic clear voice – acoustic guitar, joined by electric guitar and the other instruments, to take us in a stopless trip, with a powerful hymn-like chorus. To close this album (too soon), "Warlord Eternal" and "Dunsinane" offer us different sides of the band's talent : a song in too parts, powerful and catchy, then epic, and the last one, referring to Macbeth, a little bit folky then loudly and sweetly rocking with a melodious chorus, spoken with a hammering drum and a catchy guitar, some fiddle close this song and the album. This album is so catchy that it is like a karaoke, inviting us to sing every song, all along.  Some songs seem to be written for their live shows like IRON MAIDEN and few others can do it.
