In my honest opinion Sweden have become very well known for being the homeland to some brilliant Rock and Metal acts; the latest addition from this breeding ground for Rock and Metal come from the town Enköping and they are called MANNY RIBERA.
This band has released their self-titled album and after listening to it I am getting mixed reactions about the CD and the band in general. The album contains an excellent, eclectic selection of melodies from the acoustic ballad "Walk Alone" to the fist pumping "Lagerboy" it contains a song for whichever mood you may be in.
I think in terms where the music is concerned; these musicians are definitely talented and have a lot of potential. The melodies however didn't get me excited right away but I am sure over time as the band continue to develop I'm sure the sound will grow stronger. I often compare new bands to plants; the more it is nurtured with the right ingredients and care it will continue to grow and develop, MANNY RIBERA still have a long way to go when it comes to their music career.
Overall I think it's a brilliant album with some exceptional melodies that will ring around in my head for a long time; I think this sound will grow on me over time.
