MAD-ERA is a Metal band from Madrid, Spain and they are here with their second full length release "Electricmegablack" following their self-titled debut album "Mad-Era" in 2017. First formed in 2014, the band has played at festivals and around their country at shows and as an independent band that is a pretty good step in the right direction.

The first song is just an intro song titled "Mermaid" and it has absolutely nothing going on for the first thirty seconds and then what sounds like a voice sample appears and then a guitar shortly after that. It brings you into the second song titled "Facebreaker". This song starts out with some pinch harmonics and distorted guitars. It really has the Heavy Metal sound of the 1980's and 1990's. The next song "Ambitious" has the same Heavy metal vibes and it is slightly heavier with the power chords and hard hitting drums. The next song "Justice" has a quick little drum solo at the beginning before the guitars enter with their riffs. The vocals enter a little later in this song than compared to the previous.

"Addiction" begins with a voice sample, and the guitars mimic it in a way when they enter. I thought that part was pretty cool. In this song the vocalist hits a low growl that we haven't heard yet on the album. Then he goes back to his style after. This song has some really cool parts in it. "Running Low" has more of a groovy beat at the beginning and a guitar solo towards the end and was over all a pretty catchy song. "Melt" just starts out heavy with guitar chugging and double kicks, and then continues once the vocals come in. This one definitely has interesting lyrics throughout but overall an interesting song. The last song on the album "The Power Of Healing" begins with a very calming guitar melody that will keep you listening and intrigued with the rest of the song. The vocals get the songs message across and there are massive guitar solos at the end.

Overall, this band has potential in the heavy metal scene and with "Electricmegablack" I feel like it will help lead them to more opportunity's and fans that are into this type of Metal genre and will hopefully help them reach a label someday. As an independent album it was overall produced pretty well, and if you're a fan of that classic metal sound, check them out.
