Machinery - War album cover

In an overcrowded, saturated and ever-changing market, the EP format is on the hype and cool again, for a band it seems to be a weapon of choice and the best strategic tool to conquer new territories by using the web facilities access. Indeed with the new dematerialized music trend and the new direction of the digital only music industry, it's obviously a wise move for a young Thrash Metal squad in order to dominate the world and to reduce the humanity to slave... Well, I digress.

MACHINERY is a power trio unloads from Sweden, but it's a Scandinavian wicked alliance as Tommi Mäkelä is hailing from the frozen lands of Finland... Their sound is pretty familiar , Old School Bay Area mix with German 80's Speed Metal boosted by slight Death Metal overtones but with still a melodic sense mostly in the lead vocals... A summons warning to the established societies of our cotemporary world, in only Four burning cuts they deliver a terror thread, an ultimatum claimed with fierceness and pride.

A good potential of HATRED and DESTRUCTION is detected, and the message is pretty clear, but I feel that the band should work more on the structures and maybe they can add a few surprise twist here and there to avoid too much similarities in between the tunes.

Please, don't make any confusion with the other Swedish MACHINERY, another dangerous act that split in 2011 (R.I.P.), their second album "The Passing" released in 2007 by Regain Records is still warmly recommended by the way.
