Lyriel - Leverage album cover

It's not a band! It's a project and a really great one! I'm impressed! So as always, before listening to any album I read about the band I'm going to listen to and the only thing that came to my mind is: "Oh, not again! Great! Another Gothic / Melodic Metal band like NIGHTWISH or WITHIN TEMPTATION..." And then I started to listen to LEVERAGE and what I am about to write is important, so pay attention: LYRIEL are not NIGHTWISH or WITHIN TEMPTATION. LYRIEL is project that has created a diversified album.

No credit for a specific band member but to all! Instrumentally it was brilliant because LYRIEL have managed to create pain, love, hope, fear, dreams and it made me believe I'm taking this journey with them. It's has been such a long time since I heard such a great Gothic / Melodic Metal album, and on top of this great album, LYRIEL have decided to provide a serious platform to Joon Laukamp (Violin) and to Linda Laukamp (Cello), Which gave the album The Middle Ages décor combining with the modern guitar riffs. Although it could have been amazing if they were using guitars solos and harmonies.

The story line is basically about life itself which makes the fans be identified with it. Life is Leverage: We control our own lives; we are alone and then we find someone to share this journey with us in all its sides, and let's be honest, we wouldn't want that?

By the way, I listen to "Leverage" a couple of times and every time the thought of the movie "Lord of the Rings" came into my mind. Interesting, isn't? So, are you ready to take this "Leverage" with LYRIEL?
