LOLA STONECRACKER is a New Hard Rock/Post Grunge band from San Giovanni in Persiceto. They first surfaced in 2009, and have just released "Doomsday Breakdown" Independently on May 4th, 2015.

LOLA STONECRACKER seems to have something of a Stoner Rock sound to them at times, and the vocals have quite a bit of a Blues/Rock sound to them. The album sometimes seems to get a bit cumbersome at 15 tracks, and some of the tracks are just plain strange leaving the listener quite a bit lost and confused as to what the band was trying to accomplish. Such tracks include "Space Cowboys" and "Psycho Speed Parade". They are more showcases of various synthetic noises and sounds than they are songs, and they end abruptly while leaving the theme or point of the song unfinished.

LOLA STONECRACKER also has written some classic-sounding songs to them that every band seems to release. "Secret Of A Universe" questions the meaning of life and where we came from, as well as how we can change our fates by simply having a positive attitude and understanding what we want to accomplish each day when we set out to live our lives.  "Peril Of A Man" discusses the hardships that life can be caused in life, and the memories that can resurface in the future and cause someone the same problems again that they had before. It's essentially memories and the past haunting someone in the future. "Doomsday Breakdown" is about the day the entire world gets destroyed, and there is no going back to the lives we knew in the past. This is the final day where humanity loses hope for a future.

The mix of random tracks, and the tracks that sound like some sort classic Blues/Rock/Grunge songs that have come before it in the genre, make this entire release quite a mixed bag. "Doomsday Breakdown" is at times way too long of a record at 15 songs, and with the songs that seem to end without finishing this record is brought down a bit from what it can be. However, other tracks that are more complete and customary to the Grunge/Rock genre seem to redeem the album on some levels. Overall, if LOLA STONECRACKER "finished" every track they started, and trimmed may be 3-4 tracks off of the album it would be a homerun.
