LIZZARD is Experimental, Alternative Rock / Metal band from France, formed in 2006 and consists of Katy Elwell (drums), William Knox (bass) and Mathieu Ricou (guitar & vocals). Their self-produced demo "La Criée" was released in 2007, in 2008 band was recorded EP "Venus" and in 2012 they released first debut album "Out of Reach". Their new album "Majestic" was released on 17^th October 2014.

Beautiful opener "Vigilent" with gentle voice of Mathieu Ricou pulsating bass & clear drums building this track. Heavier guitars make these sounds more kick-ass with shouting in Grunge climate. I like so much instrumental track "Just A Breath" where gentle guitars create sounds of eternity and make this such an atmospheric track. Progressive change rates are in "Bound" with crazy riffs in FOO FIGHTERS style and even little imitation of Symphonic elements.

Trance & hypnotic music - just listen to bass playing by William Knox and drum playing girl Katy Elwell with strong guitars and vocalist Mathieu Ricou in "Colour Blind" where you can find Stoner riffs, climate of the 80's, and also even heavier TOOL riffs. Atmospheric nice singing with YES echoes are in the song "Aion", gentle sounds can be found in melodic "Reminder" where the guys play with their hearts and show their emotions through music.

"The Roots Within (Majestic)" has heavier riffs, TOOL influences and hypnotic rhythm, shouting, singing, and connecting different styles of music. Ballad "Circles" is a very atmospheric track with beautiful singing. Lower and stronger guitars is in "Falling In Zero" where there is a nice mix of such sounds with gentle singing. Excellent mix of gentle, stoner and modern sounds is hear able in melodic "Only One".

LIZZARD's music is Experimental, Alternative Rock / Metal with modern echoes and of course melody. They show new ideas without pattern and connecting different styles and elements. There positively is no schematic. Surely all fans of who like such connection wouldn't be disappointed with this CD. I think they have potential and I believe in their future!
