Lita Ford - Wicked Wonderland album cover

A friend from the past is paying a visit and I am quite anxious before I press play to listen to Wicked Wonderland. Lita Ford back in the 80's/early 90's had made a great name for herself. All the fans of the genre went crazy to the first notes of Kiss Me Deadly, Shot Of Poison and of course Close My Eyes Forever (the song that made Lita widely known). I had the chance of listening to a couple of tracks in Gods Of Metal festival but I was not that impressed, though there was a secret hope that I was mistaken and that the album will be good after all. So here it is, Wicked Wonderland.

Are we dealing with the female ALICE COOPER here? The whole concept is so similar to the Brutal Planet one, hmmm...did I hear anybody speaking of novelties? Apart from that, I could be more convinced if someone would tell me that this is RUNAWAYS of 2009, simply because they had anyway more wicked aura in their music. The whole release is dominated by electronic invasions mostly happening now music in America as far as Rock is concerned, badly mixed with elements of MARILYN MANSON and late ALICE COOPER. Such boring modern melodies in the background of all the songs exceeds my worst expectations. Yes, it is not the 80s anymore but that is no reason to demonstrate so fanatically the abilities of the computer-introduced sounds. Inside has, among the monotonous sound, a mismatching solo.
Wicked Wonderland has nothing to remind us of Lita Ford we had in mind, now we are dealing with the cyber approach of her. I think this release does not have even one hook, just a part that will stuck in your mind. She chose a field that is not her expertise, so better invest in a band that knows better. Listening to Indulge again there are traces of BAUHAUS(!!!). Betrayal is just a noise with a break of SABBATH's solo from the era that Iommi was still learning how to play the guitar. Sacred does not have the electronic beeps for a chance and the melody has some kind of flow.

I never thought that an album could be crappier than Ozzy's Black Rain. The lyrics go bananas and somehow it seems like an ode to hormones. It is true, if we make a connection with the fact that Lita recently appeared with a MILF T-Shirt (Hello?) and the lyrics speak for themselves. For sentimental reasons there is no rate.
