Melodic Power metal is a genre that many metal fans love and support with all their heart. Here we have on more Power Metal band from Sweden. This ain't the first release for the guys. They already have three albums. I have to say that they haven't manage yet to establish their position in the Power Metal scene of Europe but 'Entrance' seems a very good effort and I hope that they'll get some recognition. They might be known by the metal fans but they haven't really make the album that would turn all the 'lights' suppon them.
You can't really say that their music is the most original ever played but I have the feeling ( and I trust my feeling a lot ) that these guys never wanted just to copy the well - known Power Metal bands of Europe. In fact the personal touches are so strong that you can't say that 'Hey they sound a lot like the 'X' band'. They play Power Metal and they enjoy it a lot. The melodic parts seem to me that they have the most important role in their music. If you like Melodic Power metal this is a very good choice for you. Very good melodic riffs leading the way accompanied by typical yet good Power Metal drumming and some nice vocals. What about the bass damnit? Why the hell you reviewers you almost never mention the bass guitar player? I'm sorry! Pontus Egberg has add some very good bass lines on this album! Oh, I forgot to mention that they have a new singer in the band. I won't compare him with the previous one. I will only say that he seems to me that he has many good vocal abilities. He is way above average if we compare him with the majority of the European Power Metal singers. You can also get some AWESOME keyboards on this album by Mats Olasson who used to play keyboards with Yngwie Malmsteen. Used? You know, most of the musicians who play in one record with Ygnwie on the next one they are ex-members ( hehe).
Anyway, if you like Melodic Power metal and if you have the previous works of these guys, 'Entrance' is a really good choice. It's their best and more mature album so far and I can only wish them good luck. I have seen worst Power Metal albums been praised by the press. I really like this album and it's the one I listen most this period of time. Carry on guys! You deserve it!
