Lightless Moor must have found the most original title for their work. No wait a minute... here's a strong Deja vu... hey there's at least another album titled with the same moniker. Yeap Kreator delivered the same titled album several years ago. Unfortunately for Kreator that wasn't a lucky album. Let's see what's up with Lighltless Moor...
Well the band with the incorrect-spelling name hails from Italy, Cagliari. Their style is atmospheric / gothic metal pretty much of the same vein as past decade Theater Of Tragedy etc. This is their debut-recording attempt. Fast description: mediocre atmospheric metal / gothic metal with all the cliches of the genre (oh yeah the classic duet of brutal male / virgin female vocal lines) packed with an average production. The only thing that gets salvaged in the end is the use of piano (I assume keyboards) at some parts but again that's not something that can make this work stand on its feet. Female vocalist Ilaria Falchi sounds too typical in my ears while Federico Mura is... oh well another growler out there.
This genre (like most genres) is so swamped by a wave of copycats and Lightless Moor doesn't seem able at this point to offer something new to it. Maybe they have a long road ahead of them but for the moment I have to pass on to the next contestant...
