Hypocrite

Liecus push down barriers with genres of music like a bunch of crazed metalheads at a concert. Liecus are just nuts with the way their songs are structured, varying from Hardcore to some very pleasant singing. Now this singing isn't like Emo, it is just actual singing on a Hardcore type-sounding album.
Not much of a bio was given. All I really know is that they have released 2 demos, 2 Eps, and 2 full lengths as well as sharing the stage with Zao, Ill Nino and The Misfits. They are also from West Virginia.
Liecus have this genre bending sound to them. It is a mix of present day Hardcore and Deftones as well as... Wait, that's what it is. I had been trying to figure it out for a couple of days now but it just clicked right then. They also have influences from Tool. Now I can't quite figure out what it is about them that sounds like Tool, it is just the feeling I get from the music. Lattice, the first track on the album, has a nice strong structure with heavier verses with a softer chorus. It also has some quality guitar parts to it, and now I am not an expert on guitar terminology but I think they are called sweeps. This song I think leans more to the Deftones style while the next track, Weak Link, I would say leans more to the Hardcore side of them. The production on the album is quite surprising, usually this style of music strives for a more distorted sound, while Liecus have a very clear prodution.
Liecus is a good band and they will be on the rise now with Metalcore being so popular. I would look for them to be on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball sooner than later. I recommend them to fans of the Deftones mainly, but also some of those Hardcore kids as well.
