LIBERTY N' JUSTICE's mastermind Justin Murr is a magician? I have known his band for the last 6-7 years and he always manages to gather the 'dream team' of American - if not universal - melodic Hard Rock scene! Still, I can recall e.g. "Soundtrack Of A Soul" not fulfilling my expectations suffering from a weak sound and wavering numbers. Hence, it was urgent to spent enough time with "Light it Up" to do justice to another ambitious effort by Mr. Murr.

Thankfully, this new LIBERTY N' JUSTICE CD is worth your time and money. There has been some good amount of work done in the songs layers and the match of the vocal melodies is fitting. The project's style remains the same in general: American hardrockin', shakin' or melodic Rock based on mid or up tempos while the guitars work is surely interesting. Judging by the guests - see tracklist below - invited to participate in this album you'll surely find your own good spots but the overall vibe of "Light it Up" is promising, too.

I particularly enjoyed "Uncle Sam", "Blink", "Drunk Dead Gorgeous" and "Do What You Believe" in this new LIBERTY N' JUSTICE release and thankfully did not find any weak moments in this 60-minute CD, not willing to praise some possible album unique majesty though. All songs present both a traditional and more modern direction while the production walks the same way, honoring the past but filtering it through today's requirements.

Not much more to say, I'm afraid. "Light it Up" is a nice album destined to keep you company if you're fond of American Hard Rock (if you desperately need some bands as a point of reference, again look at the tracklist below) plus it's a good addition to your collection if you find all this 'guests' thing intriguing.
