LESS THAN 4is a band from Sweden that formed in late 2007. They brought out an EP in 2009 and recently they released their debut album "By Blood By Heart" through
Black Lodge Records. A solid old school kind of Hard Rock / Heavy Metal album,  brought by a young trio, where the oldest is born in '92 and the youngest in 1986. Still... that doesn't mean that they sound inexperienced and messy. In the contrary,"By Blood By Heart"sounds like LESS THAN 4knowtheir instruments and what they want to do with it. "By Blood By Heart"might not the most complex album ever, but it's still very solid and impressive.

"By Blood By Heart"doesn't sound like LESS THAN 4is still searching for their sound. LESS THAN 4show, with their debut album "By Blood By Heart",that they discern what kind of music they're into, that this is what they love and want to do. Their sound is as steady as a heavy metal hardened rock and capable of touching the past, the present and the future. The straight forward powerful energy that shines through the entire album feels not only old school Hard Rock / Heavy Metal like, but also fresh and ready to last and influence / inspire even more generations in the future, like LESS THAN 4managedto add a kind of timeless aspect to their album.

What got to me first while listening to "By Blood By Heart"was the powerful solid sound that took me back to the '80's and '90's hairbands vibe, and the singer Max Landegrenadded to that with the way he's inside the lyrics with his clear but a bit raw and passionate catchy voice. However LESS THAN 4isclearly a team that enjoys playing together, sharing a chemistry that's wonderful to listen to, simply because it shows skills, talent, power, passion and love for the world they created inside the music they're playing.

"By Blood By Heart"does show a world that comes from the heart. A world that's filled with blood, sweat and tears, but it's also world that's filled with love, fun, constructive ways and room to just be. Guitar lines are shining, bass and drums are rocking and vocals are sounding sincere and passionate, and the way the album "By Blood By Heart"is recorded and produced, does underline the energy behind the album by making the sound jump out and ready to walk straight in. I truly enjoyed listening to the debut album "By Blood By Heart" fromLESS THAN 4.  In my eyes LESS THAN 4did more than just an excellent job with their debut album "By Blood By Heart".
