The first thing I said when I saw this album was what a great cover. And it has a pretty nice cover indeed! To tell you the truth, I had the feeling that is a Relapse release from the first time I saw it. And yes, I was right. Relapse usually means extreme stuff and LENG TCH'E is definitely some extreme stuff!

Leng Tch'e means death by a thousand cuts and it is the name of a Chinese torture. Formed in 2001, the Belgian Grindcore act has already managed to share the stage with acts like ABORTED, IMPALED, GORGASM and AMON AMARTH. An interesting fact is that Sven (the drummer), is the well-known ABORTED frontman Gurgloroth Sven. After two full-length releases through The Spew Records, LENG TCH'E return with their second album through Relapse.

Marasmus definitely contains some extreme shit! The fact is that I wouldn't call this band Grindcore. It has a totally modern Grindcore sound and some influences out of the Grindcore scene like Death Metal and some more Hardcore stuff. Their style of playing and their technique reminded me of CEPHALIC CARNAGE as well as the legendary extreme maniacs NASUM. There are the classic Grindcore outbreaks where you just search for a place to hide and save yourself from the slaughter, but there are some catchier Hardcore riffs that grab you from your nuts! LENG TCH'E prove that Grindcore is a genre that allows the bands to explore it even deeper. It doesn't matter how much you dive, you will never find the bottom. I have to admit that this band didn't amaze me so as to worship this album or stuff like that. It is just that when a band has to offer something fresh and definitely unique, it is more than welcome. Don't tell me you want me to comment on every band member. Their technique is awesome and the vocals are fucking awesome, filthy and brutal!

I think that fans of extreme music should have a taste of what these guys produced. I am sure they won't regret it! If you pass them by do not tell me I didn't warn you! Don't forget, uncle Yiannis warned you!!!
