Lady Beast - Lady Beast II album cover

An important element that makes music enjoyable is that the people playing it are having fun and from there we naturally get affected and enjoy the ride too. This album is a prime example of how a simple melody can be mesmerising if the artist puts his heart and soul into it.

Before I talk about the album, I just have to frank and mention how ugly the album cover is. It looks really cheesy, it looks almost as though the album art is created from 90s computer games screenshots. If I were to chance upon this record, I would probably not give it a listen which is pity considering how catchy this album turns out to be!

A great element about this album is how the songs are so ready for arenas- catchy hooks, sweet guitar licks and just how memorable the song titles are. I mean "Heavy Metal Destiny", "Heroes of Our Time"? It sounds like great classic Metal nights in a pub near you and this is exactly what they are. These guys take elements of classic Heavy Metal acts like IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST, puts them in a blender, before finally sifting it through a sieve so what's left is all the goodness of classic Heavy Metal. They know full well that they are bringing nothing new to the table and there is absolutely no problem with that at all. Many times people get caught up about how to make something that "pushes the envelope" and they forgot to pay tribute to the bands that got you to pick up your six-strings in the beginning! However, these guys are no tribute band, they are more like a revival of what made Heavy Metal good in the 80s!

Throughout this album, I just want to clap along to the drums and groove to the guitar, it is a fun album! A great point is how the audience is constantly being mentioned in lines such as "We are the kings and queens of hell." So the audience is as much as the listener and also the participant!

I definitely feel the magic running through my veins. These guys have succeeded in creating a crowd-pleaser and a showstopper all at the same time.
