Sinister Seduction
Krematorium

You don’t get to hear too many bands that hail from Croatia. First active from 2007 until 2011 as CREMATORIUM, before they decided to change their first letter and become KREMATORIUM. This is the first I ever heard of this band, but investigation has revealed that they released their debut album “Body Bags” in 2015. It has taken them another ten years to come up with a follow up, which is the album I will be reviewing here. Their sophomore album “Sinister Seduction” is to be released on 25 May 2025 and has just over half an hour of Thrash Metal pur sang to throw our way in order to try and entice us into going wild.
Let me start by mentioning that you can hear that the band is not from a native English speaking country, as the foreign accents are quite prevalent. But, they are avoiding my pet hate of being very bad at pronunciation. On the contrary, the lyrics are brought in a very astute commendable way when you realise that English is not their first language. Plus singer Domagoj Fišeković has that kind of clean voice with just the right tone for Thrash Metal, making him rather easy to understand. The same goes for the musical part of “Sinister Seduction”. This is very well put together Thrash Metal, with songs that are punchy, raunchy, dirty but with a clean enough sound to make you able to hear every note played by every musician of KREMATORIUM.
As for trying something different or new; forget it. This is what you can expect from a proper Thrash Metal album. KREMATORIUM is simply rehashing what is done before, but at the same time trying to give it their own twist. The band that comes up in my mind is SACRED REICH, as they have the same kind of feel in their songs as KREMATORIUM. And let’s be honest, that is not a bad comparison to make. What I do like is that the intro of “Go Getter” is very much reminding me of “Breaking The Law”, the JUDAS PRIEST classic. “Sinister Seduction” is not the heaviest Thrash Metal album you will ever encounter, but also not of one the lightest. Also, it might not be the most original album musically, the songs will still be able to enchant you in their own way. And that is what makes “Sinister Seduction” a pleasant album. Thank you KREMATORIUM.
