New Day

John Corabi

JOHN CORABI is a singer at heart, so the most important attribute for him are the lyrics he writes in order to accompany his music. Or does this man work the other way around? I wouldn’t know.

If you haven't heard of JOHN CORABI before now, you're not a fan of THE DEAD DAISIES, his solo albums, MÖTLEY CRÜE or any of his countless collaborations throughout his quite extensive musical career. This man is one hell of a good singer, guitarist and songwriter. He is 67 years of age when his latest album that was aired on the 24th of April 2026. "New Day" is filled with over 48 minutes of Bluesy Hard Rock music that will have you rocking along with the man, as the song on offer hare all groovy, compelling and utterly enticing.

But, as JOHN CORABI is a singer at heart, the most important attribute for him are the lyrics he writes in order to accompany his music. Or does this man work the other way around? I wouldn't know. To be fair, all the lyrics on "New Day" are constructed in such a way that there is no misunderstanding the meaning of them, nor the intentions JOHN CORABI has written them for. I'm sure that a lot of them are autobiographic, and if that is the case he does open a can of worms about the things that he has experienced throughout the years. He doesn't sugarcoat any subject; he is as direct as he can be. It makes listening to "New Day" like a much more entertaining way to read about what his life was about.

But let's not forget the music. He starts off with some very strong songs, where the electric guitar demands the main attention. But he is able to get the same kind of feeling and intensity when he uses his acoustic guitar, and that is mainly due to the way he is delivering the lyrics he has constructed throughout the songs. But I have to say that even though I like what I hear, I just can't get over the fact that this JOHN CORABI album isn't grabbing me by the throat and making me swoon with excitement. Nope, what I do find is that "New Day" is a solid record, containing twelve songs that range from decent to rather good, but never reach the outstanding stage. And if I knew why it hasn't grabbed me by the balls, I really can't tell you. What that does is make me describe "New Day" as a good and entertaining JOHN CORABI album that will please a lot of his loyal fans.
