Krashkarma - Straight To The Blood album cover

One more independent release and it seems that more and more bands choose to release their stuff on their own. This time it is all about KRASHKARMA and their debut full-length work "Straight To The Blood". Looking for anything interesting behind this band? The vocalist/guitarist has played live with NINE INCH NAILS and WIZO.

So, what's up with this band? In the promo sheet the band features a song by song description. So, here's what they say about the song "Take The Money"... "Featuring Niki on the main vocals and electronic beats, this song sounds almost like a remix. The aggressive guitars create a vibe that will destroy dance floors."

And here is where I come full of questions. Dance floors? What the fuck? Why do you call yourselves a Metal band then? Basically, what KRASHKARMA try to do with "Straight To The Blood" is create a "Metal" album full of elements that will - supposedly - attract metalheads, while also make the sound be a bit radio friendly. What they've managed is to create a mediocre Nu Metal record with pseudo Industrial elements and some catchy parts that unfortunately don't save the day for them. The German quartet is not that bad, but when it comes to this "commercial" Metal genre, there are hundreds of better bands out there. Let's not forget, it's all about being competitive, otherwise why should someone spend his time and money on a band that has nothing unique or different to offer?

I guess that a couple of these songs could be featured in a game or a movie OST. Yeah, one of those that play in the background and you aren't even paying attention.
