Bristol, England based five-piece Metalcore band KOSHIRO have released their latest full length album, called "Crown of Venom". From the beginning on they stand out in their genre, they make a great addition to the relatively new genre of Metalcore.

The opening track, called "Green and Gold" makes for an epic sounding intro. Clean vocals cover the enticing background music, with synthesizers and piano setting the mood. "King of Snakes", the second one, makes a heavier effort from start to end. The vocals swing from clean to gritty, and it works wonders for the music in its entirety. The penetrating guitar riffs covers it all with a delicious hot sauce and when the drums and the 'snakes!' start booming you'll get immediately hooked.

"Necromancer" has an epic sounding intro as well, and after that they go once again into full speed and power, and that's saying a lot. The drums stay very prominent, which gives the music that extra bit of energy. The switch between the clean and the screaming vocals is a big plus as well, he rocks them both.

"Sleeper Cell" switches back between hard and a little less hard, and between clean and screamy as well. It reminds me of AVENGED SEVENFOLD's M Shadows, who wields both types of singing as well, and pretty good at that.

"Creation Theory" begins with an ominous voice over by some British guy, a poem of some sorts. 'Do not go gentle into that good night, rage,' he says, and you can see where he's coming from. Deadly fast drums and especially the background synthesizers keep the dark atmosphere going throughout the song. I don't even miss the guitar solos this album is lacking, if you can call it that.

Then comes "Catharsis", with a typical quiet and glooming intro, and it flows into a nice typical Metalcore ballad of some sorts, until it explodes near the end. They go out with a cover off SIA's "Chandelier", which sounds pretty poppy at the beginning and wasn't very necessary, but I guess they had fun with it. Really worth the listen, even if you're not that into Metalcore.
