Kissin' Dynamite - Addicted To Metal album cover

This album is serious only if you do not take it seriously enough. A collage of influences, sounds and commercial patterns, "Addicted To Metal" is the second album by this young band from Germany and it's not impossible KISSIN' DYNAMITE shall move to wider audiences with this release. Having seen them live at 2009's Bang Your Head! festival truth is the band delivers the goods onstage, too.

EMI released the album in some Central European territories in late March 2010 but now AFM Records pushes it to the whole Europe/world.

KISSIN' DYNAMITE is a band writing songs full of cliché parts; no questions 'bout this. Then the major issue may appear: "so what"? Except for the case you're expecting something groundbreaking here (which means you should move to another review rapidly) most chances are you'll eventually give two thumbs up to this quintet for nothing less than their sincere will to successfully reproduce/braze ideas a hundred times seen in bands from IRON MAIDEN, PINK CREAM 69, AC/DC and DEF LEPPARD to EDGUY, SCORPIONS, KROKUS and HELLOWEEN. Normally these attempts fail to gain the applaud of experienced fans while younger followers may show enough interest trapped in label/Media promotion; still, in this KISSIN' DYNAMITE CD (the same thing more or less happened with the "Steel Of Swabia" debut a couple of years ago, which - though - was kinda more 'personal') the mood and energy are in such high level you'll possibly feel you're young (or younger than you actually are!) again.

The music is divided into hardorckin' bangers and more metalizing numbers. Drawing influence from America, Britain, Germany and Scandinavia KISSIN' DYNAMITE seems to be an all-around gang just trying to have a good time and probably knows they're not up to for something the next generations shall be talkin' about but focus more on enjoying the present. The cover take on the DAMN YANKEES memorable "High Enough" ballad is surprisingly teasing and the overall spirit in "Addicted To Metal" seems to be the 'have fun while playing good' formula.

The video for "In The Name Of The Iron Fist" is already out (see below) and the groove in KISSIN' DYNAMITE's music is something you should just sit, relax and enjoy or drink to it. Truly, I think that this is the kind of albums that are destined to be rated as strictly 'good'; nothing more and nothing less. And remember: don't take this album too seriously, else you may not be able to discern its value and oomph.
