KINGS DESTROY has released their newest, self titled album in May of 2015. The New York based band has been working hard producing albums since 2010. This will be KINGS DESTROY's third release in only five years, impressive for any band. KINGS DESTROY are also currently on tour with WEEDEATER through the summer (East Coast USA). I personally think that KINGS DESTROY is okay; from what I've heard they are solid and crank out some good tunes, they at least seem marketable.

Wait, is calling something marketable a bad thing? I don't think so, especially if you're good. It's a term that's often thrown around sarcastically, but in this case. I honestly believe that KINGS DESTROY has just the right amount of "Pop" in their Stoner-Doom hybrid sound to reach a more mainstream audience. They don't sound too weird and Doom has been getting really popular lately (at least where I live) so it's only a matter of time before we start hearing more music like this played on the radio. I may call them marketable, and that's debatable I suppose, but the one thing that no one can deny is that KINGS DESTROY is groovy as hell.

Tracks like "Smokey Robinson" and "W2" carry a nice flow throughout. The last track on the album, "Time for War" still carries the groove quite well, but the track has a harder sound, like if ACID KING went through a Punk phase. My favorite track on the album has to be "Mr. O", I love that they turned up the "Sludge" on that particular track. Plus it seems to be (according to the music video) about The Summer of Sam and serial killers are always cool.

KINGS DESTROY is a decent band, especially good for those wanting to get their toes wet in Stoner Metal. A very talented band all around, I found them very easy to and enjoyable even if my cynical ass thought the album was a bit dull. On another note, however, I have discovered recently, that KINGS DESTROY makes great background music for mixing up batches of "special brownies".
