Kingdragon - Fire In The Sky album cover

If -hopefully - you'll be looking for a familiar title to accompany Fire In The Sky's x-th-in-a-row audition, why not trust 'diploma-granted melodic Hard Rock'? The Greek quartet - in their first self-released mini CD - is performing a more than noteworthy blend of mature/sceptic 'melodic' Hard Rock stuff and - soon enough? - should you hope to see the band inking some promising deal for a full-length debut. The man of yesterday already salutes thee...
George Aspiotis is a veteran in the Greek Hard Rock/Metal scene. Former keyboardist of 'classic' metallers SPITFIRE and 'goth' Blacksters NIGHTFALL, as well as a denoted 'part' of 80s AORsters RAW SILK, Aspiotis took the chance to form his own band the last couple of years, also deciding to handle the main singing (a mystique mix of velvet, soul tension and any-pitch class will you find in his well-worked throat). With SPITFIRE/SNOWBLIND credited drummer John Karachalios behind the kit, Fire In The Sky is the first offering by the band (did open up for Swiss rockers GOTTHARD's gig in Athens in late 2006, while they're looking on to support US 'hair' Metal legends FIREHOUSE on their stop in Greece this late October).
Wanna sink your teeth into some fine 'adult' melodic Rock the KINGDRAGON way? Take a bite: four songs full of 'pomp' keyboards-driven harmonies, yet equally cross-firing with shrieks of 'US malice' kranking guitar rhythms/leads provided by Anastasis F.; limited times will you have the chance to heed this 6-string call in our days. Mostly in minor scales (no party here!), the hooks are detectable 'behind the lines', in a HOUSE OF LORDS or PRETTY MAIDS or 'sophisticated' WINGER or grown-up GOTTHARD or 'boulevard' HEAVEN'S EDGE mode. Truth is KINGDRAGON's songwriting may bear an odd visage in the beginning, since there's nothing like a shitload of clichés over here (this - still - can act as e semi-drawback on the hunt for a 'first sting' deal...); In opposite, the 'minimal' AOR vibe of Fire In The Sky, the 'cinemascope' vogue apparition of Man Of Yesterday, the 80s 'street lethal' US hardrockin' blend of Hold On 2 Love and the grim 'opaque' Melodic Rock/Westcoast comfort of Lovely Lady shall not perish your request for even more songs than the one featured in this...
...limited edition mini CD (which - not to forget - possesses a bright production smartly pushing up the band's benefits). KINGDRAGON's first release has all the dynamics to attract the interest of AOR maniacs and melodic hardrockers. Fire In The Sky is a strapping missile; won't deny it. A full-length album would score high rating worldwide circa 2008.
P.S.: Watch a video (below) made by  TOXiC WasTed, the windsurf team participating in this year's Red Bull competition (Greece); Hold On 2 Love is featured as the soundtrack.
