Holy Diver (CDs)
Killswitch Engage

Either you are a Metalcore fan or not, you will probably know KILLSWITCH ENGAGE since they are one of the best and the most famous Metalcore bands out there. To tell you the truth, even if I slightly hate Metalcore, I like many of their songs. Anyway, the point is not whether I like this band or not. What is an object of our interest right now is that Roadrunner Records was kind enough to send this sampler, single CD or what the fuck it is.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE curiously release this CD that contains a cover of DIO's classic song Holy Diver. I don't know what's the point in releasing such a CD, but I am not the one to judge this move. I am just here to say my opinion on what I am currently listening to. Equipped with a great production - this band always has a great sound - KILLSWITCH ENGAGE show that playing a cover is not just hitting the same notes and wasting your time. I admit that these guys offer a more than great and clever cover of a classic Heavy Metal song! The guitars are heavier than the ones featured in the original song, the singer uses both clean and distorted vocals and the drummer cleverly changes the tempo when needed creating a groovy and catchy atmosphere.
You may find strange what I say, but I believe that both old school/classic metallers and younger fans of modern Metal should check it out. As it says on the back of the promo CD, this song is available on the special edition of As Daylight Dies, which if I am not mistaken is their latest album. Only one word can describe what I listened to in approximately 4 minutes... Cool!
