New Metal genres arose from the depths of the underground in the first years of the decade of the 90s. But it seems that these forms of making Metal are more popular in the USA, although we can detect bits of their influences on bands throughout the world. Searching for the place in the sun, to fight for success, we have the North American quartet KILLSET unleashing a modern and chaotic musical work on "S.T.F.U.", their latest album. To be honest, they remind you a mix between the harsh aggressiveness of bands as MINISTRY and the works from ROB ZOMBIE the catching melodies that are easy to assimilate from names as LINKIN PARK. But their musical work is truly personal, filled with many different elements, including Rapcore touches. Then, I believe that those who are used to modern Metal genres will love their musical work a lot.
Their musical production was done in a way that you can understand the nuances of each musical influence they have. It's not so easy though, because their identity needs a clean and oiled sound quality, but with a heavy and aggressive grasp. They get it, because "S.T.F.U." has those features, and you'll get the best of their songs easily. Harsh, aggressive and chaotic, but melodic and hypnotic at the same time, KILLSET's musical work is really very good, and will get many fans with their songs.
The very good keyboards used in the middle of the musical chaos of "Get Up" (along with its nasty vocals and very good use of electronic effects), the modern insight used on "Bully" and the very good guitar riffs presented on the song, the introspective and tender melodies shown on "Broken Angel", the clean Rapcore touch on "Jump", the intense and abrasive parts of bass guitar and drums on the melodic and chaotic "How Dare You", and modern electronic chaos of the nasty melodies of "Don't Let Me Die" can be pointed as their best moments on "S.T.F.U.", but the entire album is very good. Though I believe that they can do something better, they are very promising as is!
