Dying Earth
Killin' Kind

KILLIN KIND brings from Italy its traditional Power Metal. The band had a long pause in preparation between their debut album and the subject of this review entitled "Dying Earth". Tito (vocals / guitar), Daniele (guitar / vocals), Dest - (bass / vocals), Hammer (drums) are the formers the quartet that has been on the metal road since 1996. The production and mixing are well done and the cover art reminded me a lot of the cover of STRATOVARIUS album "Fright Night".
It is impossible to start listening to Tito not remember Rage, the voice is very similar. "New Killing Breed" was the song chosen to start the work and it brings a suspenseful atmosphere. With very heavy riffs and more intensity than speed, there is a break in the rhythm at the end of this track where it gets very slow and the band insists with Old and worn "mirror mirror", which in addition to not combine, is totally unnecessary.
The album follows with "The Raven" a slightly lighter track, I was a little bit worry by the vocal harmony here, but in generally it pleases me. "Appep_99942" and "King of Terror" looks exactly the same music except for lyrics and chorus. "The Journey" stands out here bringing more bass space to a more controlled voice thus giving some variety to the album. The beginning of "The Legacy" made me think briefly that the band would change course, but it is more a so so ballad with little excitement or feeling beyond its end that seems to have been planned in a hurry time.
"Raijin" is another outstanding track here, bringing very heavy and fast sounds, the band should have bet more on its formula as well as the already mentioned "The Journey". "Fujin" an instrumental music demonstrates the good technique of the members. "Stand in the Shadows" is another ballad, this time with more excitement, more vocal vocals and more inspired than the previous one. "Dying Earth," the longest track in the work brings several rhythm changes, great presence of female vocals, orchestral feelings and great moments, but again the band sins in the intro that does not fit into anything with the song.
On "Dying Earth" there are good and bad moments, the musicians are very technical, the vocals are pleasant. But they still have a long way to go to do a masterpiece.
