The Serpentine Ritual
Kill Ritual

I said it before and I will said it again, we have been experiencing a renaissance in Old School Metal. After reviewing albums by bands like ROAR, SEAX and even a raw thing like CHAPEL, there comes another new old school album to review. Wow four in a month, that's a real resurgence. KILL RITUAL are not a band to be taken lightly. They might be a new group but the grandeur is well reserved. All the guys in the band come from other great bands like IMAGIKA, DARK ANGEL and others. I would like to refer this band as a supergroup, we also have a renaissance in supergroups but not all of them are successful. From top to bottom we can find influence from bands like, SLAYER, ANTHRAX , TESTAMENT and many others.
KILL RITUAL take no prisoners, from the first song "The Serpentine Ritual" we can see that something is going to happen after a slow 25 seconds (that's it), the song rushed on me like a raging bull. When I got to third song I was already "in love" however "Time To Kill" got my head almost exploding with amazing riff, drums and vocals, the song has an amazing old school style and it delivers 100% pure classy sensations, don't get me wrong the first two songs were amazing but this one is divine and what a surprise awaited me as the album progressed. "Old School Thrasher" is the hymn of the album and all I can say is Fuck Yeah, pure and simple. Honorable mention goes to "The Day The World Dies" with an amazing intro riff and strumming power surge, it's great and solid song.
I can conclude and say that this is an ace album, however there are some differences in the old school Metal quality of some of the songs, many are amazing but few are only good, what damages the overall listening experience of the album. "The Serpentine Ritual" was mixed by KING DIAMOND's guitarist Andy La Rocque's Sonic Train Studio what can explain the amazing production of the album that almost lacked any glitches, absolutely what many bands should strive for.
