KARST: an Extreme Rock band from Hungary that came to life in 2009 from the ashes of a Black Metal band called NEBULOSUS FATUM.

The name switch was a positive move so they could find their own way and style and thus having a more range of musical tools adding more dynamics and be able to explore their imagination. Now the result is a more complex and technical outcome, still having kept the raw sound that NEBULOSUS FATUM had, but now seems that they have gone on step further and by not been a 100% Black Metal band they added other instruments to their music such as the folk flute and keyboards and therefore adding another dimension to the songs and creating a very special atmosphere indeed.

These guys are a very smart bunch of musicians and have create a something new here, they like to be called Extreme Rock And Roll but I would say their music is more than that or perhaps they are quite right, and the first track "Halogato" has that raw guitar sound and slow beats and harsh vocal sounding like the mighty VENOM a very good way to open the gates towards paradise. Perhaps they style should be defined as Black Rock because I can see their influences like: GORGOROTH, SABBATH, DARK THRONE.

"Szagodadakvusz" an excellent song, it has a dark vibe in it, very catching and the vocals are very diabolic and the guitars distorted and melodic.

KARST have left behind the days of extreme Black Metal and brought to the table something new, that is Extreme Black Rock and I can say that they have done an amazing job, this album kicks asses, the songs are well arranged and quite inspiring, "Footprints Of Harrison Crabfeathers" by Steve Kuhn a kind of tribute to Jazz played with their own style and the result is outstanding, they managed to bring the song to another level and Halomra" another classic song with that Cronos vocal style and catching pace and cool arrangements.
An amazing job by KARST , they really did a great job, very creative and have come up with something new and have kept underground, as production goes I will say, they did a fantastic job and guess what? they released in cassette format, amazing really, only 100 copies, I am a lover of cassettes, I remember the old days when I used to exchange cassettes with my friends, that generation have been forgotten because cassettes are a thing from the past, fortunately KARST have not forgotten that. The art cover is very good, very smart, I like it very much. I do recommend KARST to everyone, try it and you will not regret it!
