Robert William Athas alias Kane Roberts did play with Alice Cooper and co-wrotesongs together with him from 1986 till 1989, but he also released his self-titled debut solo album in 1987. Yesterrock Records re-released this album last April, making it part of today again. And even though this self-titledalbum does clearly carry the sound of 1987, it's complex enough to still suit today with its Pop / Rock / Metal sound. A combination with a glitter and glamour touch brought with a passion and Metal.

Kane Roberts's also known for his Rambo look and his machine gun shaped guitar, but his guitar playing and vocal abilities are showing that not everything is about looks and images. Talent and hard work can be found while listening to the self-titled albumfrom Kane Roberts, sounding all refreshed inside nowadays technology making all the hard work and passion shine even more through. Kane Roberts put as much effort inside his vocal abilities as inside his guitar playing, giving this album a certain balance that's as steady as a Metal rock. One can hear the experience he already carried with him in 1987, making me wonder how he would sound if he would bring out a new album today. Doubt it will be a boring one, simply because he hasn't been sitting still after his debut album and this 25 year old album's already filled with his lessons learned due to co-operating with others. Rocking it his own way.

The albumcontains a mix of numbers filled with sing-alongs, heavy passions and sensitive ballads all backed up by passionate vocals and fat guitar sounds and solos, giving this album an appearance with a full sound suiting today inside memories that are dating way back before yesterday.
