The conceptions of what is Hard Rock are endless, and the fans can become confused, because some of them are linked to the timeline of the genre. The best way to describe it is the most simple: an aggressive and nasty form of Rock 'n' Roll that keeps easy catchy melodies. It's not as accessible as AOR or Glam Metal, but it's hooking and can seduce people that essentially are not fans of any Rock 'n' Roll genre. Having such concept in mind, one can deal easily with "Electric Love", the latest release of the Danish quartet JUNKYARD DRIVE.

The band was assembled in 2014, but their music is a form of nasty Hard Rock of the 70's (gathering influences of AC/DC and MOTÖRHEAD) with excellent melodies and a young and savage energy. The result is something that is filled with excellent hooks and choruses, but always with those ferocious and thunderous instrumental tunes. Yes, they're not reinventing the wheel, but doing things on their own, and it's really very good."Electric Love" was recorded at Medley Studios, having Søren Andersen (GLENN HUGHES, JESPER BINZER, ELECTRIC GUITARS) on the production, and was mixed and mastered by the hands of Erik Martensson. If one still have doubts that these names guarantee an excellent sonority (that assembled the organic insight of the band with a defined sonority), you're invited to taste the album.

The Hard Rock onslaught imposed by the quartet is merciless, with 10 excellent songs. But for a taste of what expect the fans, "Let It Burn" (a savage flux of energy tempered with charming melodies, and based on cutting-edge guitars), "Electric Love" (a way down filthy Rock 'n' Roll song based on a weighty work of bass guitar and drums), "Mr. Rock N' Roll" (a song filled with many Country Rock influences, and what great singing), "Let Me Love You" (where the accessible melodic side of the band's music becomes evident in the silky melodies), "Mind Eraser" (a ferocious and abrasive Hard Rock groove can be felt in many moments, and what great chorus), and "Mama" (another weighty song that shows Country Rock elements, and what abrasive guitars) are the right ones, although all the songs are excellent.

All that's left to say is that "Electric Love" really sounds as the band is on its finest moments, but JUNKYARD DRIVE seems to have many more aces up their sleeves.
