Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: JOHNNY WORE BLACK; signed via EMP Music Group, hailing from England - performing Alternative/Indie Rock, on their 3rd album entitled: "Ultra Violent Light" (released 28th of June, 2018).

Since formation in 2012 the band in question have 3 albums in their discography so far; I am introduced to their 3rd album entitled: "Ultra Violent Light". 10 tracks ranging at around 44:77; JOHNNY WORE BLACK arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting, Alternative/Indie Rock developments. Featuring a vast super-group of distinctive diligence, the band demonstrate a grandiose manifestation of constructively distinguished diversity. "Gun True Love" begins the record, distributing creatively crafted melodies and harmonies in which generate rhythmic ramifications of relentless thunder and skill - fuelled with flamboyant finesse and progressively technical persistency. Amplified with an aesthetic of atmospheric energy, the band amalgamate a boistrously electrical remedy of rambunctious vehemence.

Consisting of Jay Coen on vocals; the frontman fabricates clean singing with a hint of rough robustness of profuse proficiencies, "Ultimate Fighter" contrasts with consistent complexities that dynamically varies with elegantly composed expertise. Vocalist duo George Donahue (also on the bass guitar) & Adam Sedgewick establish audible contributions in the exquisitely polished fluidity of "One Sexy Scar" & the nimble "Plastic Ocean", consistently barraged with captivating efficaciousness and endless assualts of adrenaline-pumped hymns - converged with enlightening and conceptual designs of orchestral results from cello performer Kate Shortt. Embellished on implementing uniquely unprecedented elements that excel with solid stability, executed with dextrously efficient finesse.

Speaking of dexterity; songs like "Honey Club" inject an organic substance of riveting catchiness with the keyboardist Cameron Daniel William Hill experimenting concrete instrumentation and musicianship, with the versatility showcasing enjoyably entertaining contributions. MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson joins the fray with the record label being his own, and with that manages to do as he pleases - providing interesting influences on his musical tastes with JOHNNY WORE BLACK. With songs like "RIP Man" & "Boy Soldier", the man supplies his notable yet signature sound with bouncy audibility - no extreme savagery like with the aforementioned band; yet still admirably commendable stuff here, however. Only guitarist Gez Walton has hardened riffs and solos that blister with thunderous jumpiness, especially in the epic "Southern Storm".

Battering drummer Simon Hutchby also hammers his arsenal with dominated pummelling, still juxtaposed with synthetics and songwriting that is originally memorable – songs like "Broken" & the titular track orchestrate a borderline foundation of punchline grooves, and a silver lining of exciting renditions. Overall concluding "Ultra Violent Light"; I am compelled to say that this was a refreshing discovery.

Bottom line; while I had fun with this one, it took me a few tracks in to appreciate this one – it did not exceed expectations, yet I discovered a good band that certainly has potential.<
