Johansson & Speckmann - The Germs Of Circumstance album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: JOHANSSON & SPECKMANN; signed via Soulseller Records, hailing from Czechia/Swedish/Norwegian grounds - performing Death Metal, on their 5th album entitled: "The Germs Of Circumstance" (released October 9th, 2020).

Since formation in 2013 the trio in question have a Split collaborated with the band TORTURE PULSE entitled: "Lair Of The Wretched" (released July 20th, 2013); 5 Full-Length Albums entitled: "Sulphur Skies" (June 7th, 2013), "Mask Of The Treacherous" (released February 23rd, 2015); "Edge Of The Abyss" (released September 16th, 2016), "From The Mouth Of Madness" (released March 30th, 2018)...and this here album that I am introduced to entitled: "The Germs Of Circumstance". 7 tracks ranging at around 24:95 ...JOHANSSON & SPECKMANN arrange an intricately designed formula of some heavy-hitting Death Metal developments.

Opening up with the blistering barrage frenzy of the titular track; JOHANSSON & SPECKMANN unleash an amplified assault in boisterously bouncy adrenaline, groovy distortion and a gnarly element on savagely sinister vehemence. Utilising this vicious stampede on riveting rhythms that rollick with this thunderous pursuit on striking malevolence that will rattle skulls into a bludgeoning splatter of ferocious firepower, and chiselling drills in which trailblaze with skyrocketing panache. Slaughtering speakers with this monstrously meaty foundation in punchy jumpiness, sonically manifesting this OBITUARY-esquire flamboyance where the vocals from frontman Paul Speckmann heavily remind me of the raspy yet sturdy tightness from grumbler John Turdy... throaty snarls roar with beckoning growls and guttural shoutiness that rage with persevering gnarliness ...elsewhere, the songwriting musicianship showcases this monolithic bombardment in this wildly rushing spiral of relentlessly primitive weightiness that will make anyone break chairs over other chairs!

"One World One Leader" tempestuously riffs this shulphurously raw aesthetic in dexterously dynamic virtuosity, oscillating quintessentially surging these tenacious attributes in crunchy grinds and razor-sharp shreds from bass/guitar chugger Rogga Johansson... who injects an audibly infectious injection on ripping mayhem, chaotically lacerating killer substance on ruthlessly organic pandemonium where blast-beating catchiness drones into a fierce slab of rapidly swift nimbleness & reverberating rumbles that thumps with vibrantly quirky snappiness. "Take The Lion's Share" revels with rompy melodies where stompy precision & steely drum hammering from Brynjar Helgetun rivet with rambunctious potency while pounding with speedy veracity, galloping into a frolicking shroud of visceral synergies of maddening solidity that shine with volatile glee.

"I Was Left To Stare" experiments in hybrid complexity, where the triggering calamities demonstrate a battering consistency in hasty strums & a dash of salubriously thrashy hardiness... cords bark with rebellious droniness and deadly persistence while the momentous maelstrom rolls with riffing uproar, oozing a healthy dose of some immersively intense slayings on motoring piledrives. "Generations Antidote" embodies evil empowering harmonies in which bulldozes bruising but berserking chunkiness, dominating a hostile swamp of quaking onslaughts on thick and sludgy filth and cutting edge scatterings that will make anyone go crazy. "Confessions Of A Vital Leader" spellbinds souls with systematic tempos that resonate with progressively technical magnetism, never short of unique patterns nor methodic flows and a creative zest on fueling a brimming fabrication in distinctively distinguished attacks subjugate you with full force extremity.

The penultimate track: "Provoke The Collective" revolves around a dirty but caustic evolution that spreads vociferous rowdiness with meticulous yet menacing rampaging, harnessing contorted combustion and skillful retribution where performances abuse all instruments into a ferocious boundary in an intense arsenal on compiling fluidly polished sound production anarchy expertise. Overall concluding "The Germs Of Circumstance" with the finale belter "Devour Enrage The Hour The Rage"; this jingling grandeur furnaces a gripling fretwork in hooks that shatters windows with sheer eruption, increasing brutality & high-octane rifts that possess you to mosh with hardened exuberance. Bottom line; I am compelled to say that JOHANSSON & SPECKMANN certainly outdone themselves with this offering, resulting on profusely robust devastation and a concrete stability to thrash noggins with adventitiously ambitious battle hymns that will most definitely get your day going rightly.

This was resounding in every way, while remaining enjoyably entertaining and delivering an utmost replayable yet upbeat piece of which will surprise you tenfold as it did me. Most surely worth a handful of spins, make sure you give it a listen as this trio does Death Metal mandatory justice! Do check it out.. You won't regret it.
