Izengard - Angel Heart album cover

It's hard to fathom that this is the debut album of IZENGARD. Members of various projects throughout Europe and undeniable veterans of the Classic Rock scene back in the good old United Kingdom. They mix classic British Rock with some symphonic elements. The experience of the members shows off immensely in both the songwriting process and the overall flow of the album. The lyrics are thought provoking and they deliver a simple message of understanding and love. The album is a mix of sadness and happiness. The album represents the duality in life, you can't have life without death, love without tears and happiness without the unspeakable hurt people go through. The message is very positive nonetheless. The passage does talk about the passage from this realm to the other realm. Death is an eventuality but you can face it by living your life the way that makes you feel happy. I felt this was an overall positive message and sometimes a small deed or a letter or a just a phone call can make anyone's day.

I felt the overall lyrical theme really spoke to me on another level nonetheless.  ''Heaven's Bleeding'' talks about the loss of a loved one. It's the pain and misery that people endure when someone leaves this life way too soon. It really is heaven's gain when they get great people but these people will never leave your heart. You have to go through each day with this overall sadness on losing a great person in your life but you know they are well wherever they are.

''She Comes Alive'' is about the happiness of a woman. She comes alive when the happiness trikes her heart. She becomes another person, someone that can have the world on her back but she'll be happy because she makes everyone around her happy. It can be a mother, a daughter, a niece, a teacher, it's that pure energy running through your veins and makes you feel alive and happy to be there.

''Demon of the Night'' also spoke to me on a different level. I guess you can say it's the fear of the dark, the darkness within you. At night, the creatures come out and most of our insecurities come out at night when we are in bed or sleeping. Everyone has to go through this demon we all have inside of us. It's the fear of losing everything, the fear of death, the fear of pain none withstanding. It's a lyrical thought-provoking album, mixed with a great self-production and great Classic Rock mixed with some Progressive Rock goodness.
