Isvind - Daumyra album cover

The blind mainstream links the success of Norwegian Black Metal to BURZUM and MAYHEM, while I tend to disagree and look at the unappreciated underground the country had for all these years. One of those underrated sapphires are ISVIND, the 21 year old Black Metal band which have yet to stay alive and bless us with a new release entitled "Daumrya" which translates to something cool... maybe.

Like most orthodox Black Metal albums from Norway there has to be a mystical, dark, haunting feeling to the music, and that's just what "Daumrya" starts off with... ambience, cold riffs, and fucking Metal. Songs become more merciless and dark with "Burn the Kings" and "Djevelens Uvaer" and the album continues to destroy peace and reinvent chaos to the end with the entire album.

As a dedicated fan to the Norwegian Black Metal scene and history I advise this album. ISVIND should never continue to be another underappreciated act, and deserve to rise to the top and become another name to be reckoned with.
