Aftermath Chronicles

This was a decent album. The light use of symphonic elements augments the music well, and you can tell that the band put a lot of thought into their compositions.

"Aftermath Chronicles" delivers a sonic journey through the desolate landscapes of a post-apocalyptic world, painting vivid images of survival, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of hope amid the ruins. The album seamlessly blends powerful vocals, thunderous riffs, and evocative lyrics that explore the depths of human emotion in the face of an unforgiving dystopia. "Aftermath Chronicles" is an immersive experience that invites you to navigate the scorched landscapes and witness the resilience that emerges from the ashes. Prepare for an audio odyssey that will leave a lasting impact on the listener's soul.

The album has nine songs, and the title track is first. It’s an instrumental introduction to the album, and the sounds is symphonic and tense. “Seven of Hearts” surges forward with a hasty pace and smooth vocals. There is also a lamenting quality to the music, but it is just a little on the thin side. “Judgement Day” also has lamenting sounds to it, although the song sounds a bit more complete. Some of the vocal harmonies are pitchy, and if the band thickened up the sounds a bit, it would help. “Thorns” has a similar overly emotional sound. This isn’t a bad album so far by any means, but they need to dial back the deep lamenting.

“Bloodborne” has a nice lead guitar run in the opening and from there, the melodies are dark. I understand the concept of the album, but these burning laments are hard to cut through. “Tempest” is more like it. It starts out with a burning fast pace and the vocals are tinged with anger. They also use more major chords so it stays out of the darkness a little better. “Veil of Lies” keeps within the theme of the album, and also uses a fast moving pace. “A Wanderer’s Lament” closes the album. The heavy emotional quality to the song caps up the tale. Overall, this was a decent album. The light use of symphonic elements augments the music well, and you can tell that the band put a lot of thought into their compositions.
